Can a canvas sling be used to lift loads?
Very often our customers ask questions about the possibility of using tarpaulin tape as a material for creating lifting slings (lifting loads), for example on construction sites.
It is important to define clearly this issue, since we are talking not just about the use of tarpaulin tape, but also about safety in a production environment.
Textile slings are actually used for lifting purposes. However, this does not apply to purely tarpaulin strips. Such slings have a specific structure (as can be seen in the figure above) and are not made of tarpaulin
Using a canvas sling to lift loads can be dangerous and inappropriate. Tarpaulins are not strong or durable enough for these tasks, which can lead to accidents and injurings. It is recommended to use specialized slings made of resistant materials to ensure safety when lifting loads.
